NOISES OFF (Hindi)

The most outrageous comedy ever staged!

ul_A5.indd
By Michael Frayn, in Hindi with supertitles in English

Often called the funniest farce ever written, Michael’s Frayn’s Noises Off is a play-within-a-play, presenting a manic menagerie as a cast of actors rehearsing a sex romp hours before opening night. Lines are forgotten, love triangles unravel, gloves and clothes come off, and there are flying fish everywhere. Can the cast pull their act together on stage amidst all this pandemonium? Noises Off has won the Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Play and the London Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy.

MR. INDIA (Hindi)

By Sujit Saraf, in Hindi with supertitles in English

A half-blind, bumbling tea-seller in Delhi rises to become Prime Minister of India in this hilarious and hard-hitting satire on Indian democracy. Based on the 2007 novel The Peacock Throne, acclaimed by Time and The Guardian, the play is a grand farce, starting with the 1984 Sikh riots that followed the assassination of Indira Gandhi, and ending with the election that threw up a hung parliament in 1989. Tucked amidst these momentous events is the tale of a humble and foolish tea-seller, whose rise to power is the bittersweet story of India itself. The play features an ensemble cast, spectacular sets and costumes, and will be performed with live music and dance. The whole play rhymes.

Children under 8 will not be admitted.
